Chris Parrish is the Group Treasurer of Yorkshire Building Society, the third-largest UK building society, based in Bradford in the North of England. The Society is a mutually owned, traditional building society operating as a domestic retail deposit taker and residential mortgage lender in the UK. The Society has a national network of branches throughout the UK and provides an internet offering for both savings and lending products. The lender provides mortgage products to the intermediary market through a wholly-owned subsidiary, Accord Mortgages Plc. At year-end 2007 the Group had total assets of £20.5 billion. Chris Parrish has been with Yorkshire for 25 years and is currently responsible for all wholesale market activity of the Group. This involves the management of liquid asset portfolios, wholesale funding programmes and derivative activities on behalf of the Group. The Society is rated A2/ A / A by Moody’s, S&P and Fitch respectively. The mortgage portfolio is heavily biased towards prime mortgage product and the balance sheet is predominantly retail funded. The Society has active wholesale funding programmes that include a $5 billion US Commercial Paper programme, a £5 billion EMTN programme, a €7.5 billion Covered Bond programme and a £2 billion Government Guaranteed Issuance programme (CP, CDs, EMTNs).
