Round table forum considering the budgetary pressures facing the public sector
Venue: Novotel, Leeds, LS1 4HR
The forum is designed to bring together key CIPFA members from across the Region, with the focus of the event being upon giving you the tools to increase your organisation’s efficiency quickly and easily by automating business critical processes, such as your procurement and finance functions. The event is being run in conjunction with Basware who are the global leader in purchase-to-pay automation. This event will allow you to explore the options available to you in relation to your business critical processes and how to achieve back office savings without having to cut your front line services. You may wish to use the forum to network with neighbouring public sector bodies with a view to possibly creating/joining up shared service centres or other positive avenues. The forum will commence at 2.30pm with light refreshments and will conclude by 5.00pm. To enable you to gain the maximum benefit from the forum, two places have been reserved for you, allowing you to bring a colleague such as the Head of your Payments Section or Head of Procurement. Coping with Change in the Downturn

The seminar will consider the key aspects of coping with change being faced by both individuals and organisations in the current downturn. A Management Consultant and CIPFA recruitment advisors will be giving an overview of the pressures being faced in the workplace along with coping strategies and solutions to these challenges. So if you have recently have lost your job or are looking to recruit specialist staff such as project managers they will have advice that is essential for you. In addition, there is an increasing focus on Shared Service Centres, not only to deliver savings but as a driver for sustainable change. Basware UK which specialises in financial processes automation software will be demonstrating the benefits to organisations of shared services and the longer term, sustainable efficiencies these can deliver. The event is aimed primarily at CIPFA members and students who may have been affected by the issues of coping with change in the downturn.
