Money laundering presentation

Speaker: Dermot Fairhurst, SOCA
We are delighted that Dermot Fairhurst from the Serious Organised Crime Agency (previously of the National Crime Squad and West Yorkshire Police) will join us for a lunch presentation at the Bradford Club. His talk will include a recent case he was involved in, which concluded in court last week, and “self-styled” accountants. The Serious Organised Crime Agency (SOCA) is an Executive Non-Departmental Public Body sponsored by, but operationally independent from, the Home Office. SOCA is an intelligence-led agency with law enforcement powers and harm reduction responsibilities. Harm in this context is the damage caused to people and communities by serious organised crime. Dermot’s presentations to us are always well attended, informative and entertaining and we are delighted he is coming to present to us again. He will begin his presentation at 12:00 and this will be followed by a buffet at approximately 13:30. This event is open to both members and non-members of the Bradford Society of Chartered Accountants and we will be delighted to see your colleagues, clients and other contacts.
