Speaker: Simon Hurst, a Chartered Accountant, has been involved in computer software for 16 years. His training organisation, The Knowledge Base, provides a wide range of training and consultancy services to accountants and other professionals.
See website for cost of the event. Nearly all accountants use spreadsheets, and in particular Microsoft Excel, to deal with a multitude of tasks. From handling simple internal calculations to presenting financial information, most spreadsheets could be made more reliable and could present their results more effectively with the application of a key Excel techniques and features. This course will look at making spreadsheets more interactive through the use of macros and form controls and will also look at some advanced techniques for presenting information. The topics covered in this course will be Designing for accuracy and reliability Using macros to automate processes Creating interactive spreadsheets – using buttons, spinners, lists and other controls to help users get more out of your spreadsheets Giving spreadsheets more impact – using Excel's existing graphics tools effectively Case study – from accounting data to dashboard. Extract, update and summarise accounting data and automatically turn it into a report pack or dashboard
